On March 14, 2024, the Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office of SMU, in collaboration with Stenar Trading, hosted a significant event to honor International Women’s Day. Held at the Undergraduate campus, the event featured a panel discussion that actively involved the SMU community and its students.
The gathering was a source of inspiration, featuring prominent figures such as Sr. Tinsae Bizuneh, founder and CEO of Tina Weight Loss and Mindset Center; Mrs. Jemila Hassen, founder and CEO of Happy Studio and CMO at Likawunt Consultancy; Megabi Kiya Sbhat, Founder and CEO of Born-Again Rehabilitation Center; and Ms. Selamawit Alemu, Founder and CEO of Fidel Tutorial. These esteemed guests shared their life experiences and wisdom, profoundly inspiring and empowering the students. Their narratives underscored the critical role of investing in women’s potential to drive progress.
The event was further enhanced by the Gender Club and the Literature Club, who presented stirring poems that captivated the audience.
