The Research and Knowledge Management Office (RaKMO) produces proceedings of the four annual research events i.e., International Conference on Private Higher Education in Africa, Multi-Disciplinary Seminar, National Student Research Forum and Open and Distance Learning Seminar to serve as references to the university’s community as well as to disseminate to partner and stakeholder institutions thereby building institutional memory of the University.
St. Mary’s University also produces three accredited journals namely: Journal of Business and Administrative Studies (JBAS), Journal of Agriculture and Development (JAD) and Mizan Law Review. JBAS and Mizan Law Review have been accredited by the Ethiopian Ministry of Education.
SMU in general and RaKMO in particular work with relevant partners and stakeholders which play considerable roles in promoting quality higher education in Africa. Some of these include:

Results of all conferences and seminars are published in proceedings and disseminated to the wider public in hard and soft copies. The soft copies of all the proceedings and research outputs are available at http://repository.smuc.edu.et/.
He University also publishes three biannual journals: Mizan Law Review, Journal of Agriculture and Development Studies and Journal of Business and Administrative Studies. Mizan Law Review has been accredited by the then Ministry of Science and Higher Education (now Ministry of Education) and Scopus indexed. These journals are made accessible in hard and soft copies.
