The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Undergraduate Program, was established in 2013. The program is geared towards producing qualified youth and adults who meet the skilled workforce needs of the country and those who aspire to be involved in self-supportive activities.
The BA in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a four-year program for regular students and a five-year program for extension students. The Department integrates conceptual knowledge and skills through exposure visits to different tourist and historical sites, project works, and annual events to help them translate the theory they acquire in classrooms into practice. The annual bazaar and exhibition is one such opportunity where students showcase the skills they have acquired in the classroom.
Students registered for the program are required to undertake research in their major area as a partial fulfillment of the requirements for the BA Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management
To be admitted to the department, students are required to meet the minimum entry requirements set by the FDRE Ministry of Education(MoE) .
