St. Mary’s University Press (SMUP) is a publishing house established in 2011. SMUP, as its main objective, focuses on publishing books related to education and literature. The Press publishes children’s books for KG students and other supplementary materials that support the teaching learning process in all academic levels. Besides, it is the duties of SMUP to deal with publications that help the community develop its reading culture. To this effect, SMUP tries its best to make books available everywhere through presenting fictional and nonfiction reading materials at a reasonable and affordable price to bookshops and educational institutions. Moreover, SMUP accepts educational and literary works from authors and, upon agreement, publishes and distributes the books for sale among book sellers and educational institutions.
To date, the Press has published books on more than 100 titles in several languages. These include:
• fiction and non-fiction books for readers from KG to tertiary level;
• creative works and translations that may serve as supplementary reading materials or entertainment;
• educational books in different languages: Amharic, English, Afan Oromo, Tigrigna,
Agewigna, Sidamigna, Somaligna; and
- supplementary educational books of different subjects (English and Amharic languages, Mathematics, Natural Science and Social Science).
SMUC also produces colored charts for KG students in English, Amharic, and Afan Oromo, Tigrigna, and Agewigna. It gives different services such as translation and editing, too.
