St. Mary’s University and French Embassy renewed their agreement on the occasion when the French Embassy, in partnership with the Ethio-French Alliance of Addis Ababa and the Ethio-French Alliance of Dire Dawa, celebrated French Teachers Day on November 25,2023 in the French Embassy’s premises.
The day’s program was twofold. The program started by signing partnership agreements between ten Ethiopian education institutions and the French Embassy in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. Following that, French Language instructors were recognized by the Ambassador of the French Embassy as it is a festival held to celebrate every year to honor French Teachers.
Ato Tedla Haile, Executive Vice President, and Misganaw Solomon (PhD), VP for Research and International Relations, were present at the occasion, representing St. Mary’s University, where the latter signed the partnership agreement on behalf of the University. Dr. Telahun Gebrehiwot, a French Instructor at the University, was also present to celebrate the occasion.
At the end, SMU received a number of French books, dictionaries, and games.
