The College of Open and Distance Learning (CODL) of St. Mary’s University organized a two-day seminar on the readiness for the National Higher Education Exit Exam and on the issues of the University’s distance education on November 11 and 12, 2023, at the Main Campus of the University. The seminar, which was opened by the President and founder of the University,Wondwosen Tamrat (PhD), was attended by the University’s distance education center Management coordinators and directors.

The seminar focused on enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the University’s distance education programs and equipping the students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the National Exit Exam. The seminar covered various topics, such as the preparation for the National Exit Exam, course material preparation, and tutorial support program for the National Exit Exam. Moreover, explanation was given on the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Audio-Video, Outlook, and other online network services, in relation to the Exit Exam by the ICT Department of the University.

The seminar also provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the University’s distance education program, and to share their experiences and suggestions for improvement. The seminar was concluded with a closing remark by the University’s President, who gave directions on the annual work procedures and expressed his appreciation and encouragement to the participants.
