St. Mary’s University organized orientation sessions for Freshman students of the 2015 E.C. Academic Year on March 25, 2023, at the Undergraduate Campus.
Opening remarks were made by Ato Tedla Haile, Executive Vice President of St. Mary’s University, who warmly welcomed the students and gave highlights about St. Mary’s University, all programs, and rules and regulations that should be adhered to.
Following the opening remarks, Ato Kedir Jemal Head of the Academic Affairs office explained the duties of the University in helping students attain the objectives of their stay at SMU. He reiterated about the provision of the services they need, making resources available and accessible for their academic endeavors, and creating a conducive environment for learning.
Key program and administrative offices including the Registrar’s Office, Student Support Services Office, Library, Career and Internship Unit, Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office (GHAPCO), Accounting, Computer Science, and Basic Courses Departments briefed the students about their respective offices/units and the services they provide.
